PERIODONTAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
Periodontal
diagnosis, known as "Gum Disease" is an infection of the tissue and
bone that supports your teeth. Periodontal disease has many different
levels from minor To severe. The severity and how far the disease has
progressed determines the type of treatment necessary. NON-SURGICAL
TREATMENT -includes regular hygiene sessions better known as a cleaning
appointment. Deep cleanings with the use of local anesthesia allow the
dentist or hygienist to remove tarter that has accumulated deeper on
the tooth roots. Another non-surgical procedure is
the placement of a medicine called Arestin Directly to the infected
area of the gums.. Arestin works over a 14 day period to reduce the
bacteria that causes the infectious process in the gums. This reduces
pocket depth thereby improving the health of the gums and supportive
tooth structure. (For more information, please visit www.Arestin.com) |
